About South Dublin Dance Academy

About Us

We aim to develop the enjoyment of dance, in a safe and friendly environment.

Having our own premises we are able to offer a wide range of tuition six days a week- Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Lyrical/Contemporary, Jazz, Gymnastic Dance, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre.

 

We have won many awards at competitions and students are encouraged to enter I.D.T.A examinations, we have a 100% pass rate in all examinations that are taken. Many of our students have gained places in dance colleges and have gone on to dance professionally.

 

All pupils are encouraged to take part in our Annual Showcase.

 

We cater from age 3 to adult, we offer training up to a major level in all I.D.T.A. subjects.

 

We are proud of the confidence and professionalism we install in our students.

Paula Kearns

Founder & Director

Paula started dancing at the age of five and decided to turn her passion for dancing into her school SDDA.

Emily Metcalfe

Dance teacher

Emily trained at SDDA as a child, before moving the England to further her training in dance. She gained a Level 3 Extended Diploma from The Miskin Theatre and a Level 4 Diploma from the Liverpool Media Academy. Since returning to Ireland, Emily has gained teaching qualifications from the IDTA and continues to increase her qualifications on a regular basis. Emily loves teaching and inspiring the young dancers at SDDA, and is excited to meet all future dancers.

Lauren Condron

Dance teacher

3rd year student in Ireland’s leading musical theatre college, Phoenix Theatre Arts, where is is training to obtain her diploma in Singing, Dancing and Acting. Prior to Phoenix she was student in the Peelo School of Dance where she undertook IDTA grades in ballet, tap and modern freestyle and taught classes in ballet, hip hop, musical theatre and contemporary. Over the last number of years Lauren has had amazing opportunities such as dance captaining Dublin’s Liberty Panto and a piece on the Move It Main Stage, along with both solo and group performances on the internationally broadcast Stephen Leeson Show.
